Oh, and don’t forget to treat your love to a bunch of tulips at the Bloemenmarkt!

Bali is without a doubt a romantic getaway destination: the beaches, the views, the sunsets, what more could you ask for? The island is a perfect couple’s paradise! For those looking for luxury on a budget, this can still be found at Keraton Jimbaran Beach Resort with its own private beach!

While you’re on the island be sure to check out Sanur for its relaxed vibe, Ubud’s rice paddies and in the north: Lovina to do some dolphin watching!

Venice Marco Polo Guide

The canals, the gondolas, the gorgeous historical buildings – Venice is full of romance! It has been the setting of many a love story, and one of the most famous ones is the tragic love story between a fisherman and a mermaid. All that is left of their love is a stone heart that is said to bring eternal love to those who touch it, so make sure to take your own love there.

For the best view of Venice, check out Ponte dell’Academia, also known for the many love locks attached to it. Just don’t leave yours there, the locals will not appreciate the damage done to the historical bridge.

The beautiful Lake Garda, with mountains in the distance, makes for a stunning scene for the couples seeking an active vacation. Visit the historical harbour of Sirmione, go hiking in the nearby mountains and end your day in one of the area’s excellent Italian restaurants, or watch the sun set into the lake on the beach.

With all the romantic comedies set in New York, it would be hard to argue why New York does not belong on this list. It is the perfect urban setting for your very own love story. Exchange kisses on the top of the Empire State Building, take a stroll in Central Park and re-enact your favourite romantic movie scene in the city that never sleeps.

My most romantic moment is connected with my first trip to London in April 2005. It was a high school trip and during that journey I actually met and fell in love with one of my classmates. I was just 15 and he was my first big love. We had our first date on a bench under the Tower Bridge 💟 we then spent 2,5 years together and I really love to remember this first love and relationship.
Following you on Fcb and iG 😉

Last year when on a cruise we had a guided tour on the canals of Amsterdam & it was so romantic as we had done a similar trip 30 years previously with our baby girl.

Meeting my now Husband on a flight to Sri Lanka was amazing. Two years later we went back there to get married. we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary last week.

  4. Solange says:

My first holiday with my husband. He had been offered the use of a colleague’s house in a tiny hilltop village in southern Tuscany, so we leapt at the chance and off we rushed together.

The cottage was in a tiny village, perched on top of a hill above the famous town of Grève in Chanti. Two rooms and a steeply terraced garden overlooking vineyards and olive groves.

After tasting a Sicilian style prickly pear granita, came inspiration for the most memorable and ill-judged moment of that whole trip. Prickly pears were in season and growing absolutely everywhere, so we had to try some of the tempting looking fruit surrounding our cottage terrace. There must be a way to pick these fat, juicy looking fruit without becoming something resembling a human cactus. Whatever the technique is, we did not find it, and the several days spent afterwards pulling the almost invisible spines out of my husband’s fingers did not make the refreshing, juicy sweet fruit worthwhile. But, whenever I see a prickly pear, the image of him, dancing around like Baloo with his paws full of spines, comes instantly to mind. I can be sure that we will be returning over and over to Italy, but these days relying on someone else to harvest the prickly pears.

My brilliant partner arranged a superb tour of Orkney for our anniversary a coupe of years ago – fabulous time and fulfilled a dream of mine

Mine was going to a Moulin Rouge themed Secret Cinema event last Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend! They recreated a romantic 19th century bohemian Paris. It was amazing.

  8. Tracy Gladman says:

It has to be when my husband surprised me with a trip to Jersey for my 40th birthday. He booked the time off work, arranged the hotel, car hire and flights all without me knowing. I got up to find suitcases and flight details in the hallway. I was told I had 30 mins to pack before we went to the airport. I had the most fantastic time. Definitely the most romantic thing he’s done!

  9. Jo Young says:

Watching the sun set in St Lucia was very romantic, it was just us on the beach and it was a perfect night to end a wonderful day of snorkelling, eating amazing food and walking hand in hand along the shore.

I also like you on Facebook and follow on both Twitter and Instagram.

A twighlight trip on a gondola during our honeymoon in beautiful Venice was the most romantic evening, as the moon shone and we drank champagne. We were lucky enough to go again after 10 years of marriage. Now it’s 20 years and we are still happily married and just as in love as the day we said “I do”.

  11. Laura Pritchard says:

My most romantic travel moment was going for fish & chips at the harbour in Darwin, Australia, with a guy I had just started a fling with. On the way back it a tropical downpour started out of nowhere and we had to run for it – as it was so hot I was just in a vest top & mini skirt and we got drenched, but stopped in the rain for a passionate kiss!

  12. Lauren says:

I met my partner when we were travelling in Australia, we travelled home together and now several years later have our little boy.

  13. Alison Latham says:

Romance? I think that is summed up by my other half buying tickets for us to climb the Sydney Harbour bridge, despite being absolutely petrified of heights!

My 40th Birthday when my husband treated us to a weekend in Paris and we climbed the eiffel tower for the first time and enjoyed the Parisian cafes and shops and the wonderful cuisine and wine!

The Maldives – scuba diving was breathtaking. Water as warm and as clear as a swimming pool, amazing marine life, especially the sharks which I hand fed…….Paradise

A recent trip to Berlin brought us much closer….we’ve been together for nearly 30 years and riding through this fab city on our bicycles made us feel like teenagers again. Fantastic history, buildings and things to explore and restore your enthusiasm for travel
